PDX Strength & Conditioning was formed in September of 2013 to provide quality strength programming and personal training to athletes of every type in the Portland-Metro area.
How it all started...
*Owner-Derrick Gleason received a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Linfield College (McMinnville, OR) where he competed in Football and Track & Field (2003-2007).
*After his undergraduate experience he worked for the Salem Hospital's Cardiac Rehabilitation & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. There he provided "outpatient" clinical care to patients striving to increase activities of daily living and Functional Capacity.
*Deciding to further his education, Derrick traveled to Stockton, CA to work toward his graduate degree in Exercise Physiology. There he worked as a graduate assistant, running fitness operations for the student fitness center and delivering strength programs to the Universities Rugby and Crew organizations.
*Ultimately, the NW was his home and he traveled back to Portland to work as an Asst Manager and Fitness Manager for local 24 Hour Fitness Gyms
Derrick's career paths have allowed him to work in various settings providing experience in the clinical, team and one-on-one fields. Experience along this wide spectrum has shaped the philosophy of PDX Strength & Conditioning to be one believing in..Safe, Sound and proven programming to provide results to those looking to increase fitness levels, train for a competitive event or regain strength from prior injuries.
